Re: Candida and pancreatic insufficiency

the pancreas gets weak after years of the standard american diet, which is high in carbs but low in enzymes, especially if you habitually ate bread and cereal products; and a congested liver. the liver, pancreas and adrenals all need each other to be functioning well or the pancreas gets overworked. Typical modern life, searching after 'thrills' and valueing drama over peace will exhaust the adrenals and liver and thus pancreas.

So you need to switch to a nearly liquid diet, with enzymes, follow ALL of the guidelines in the power of digestion notes as much as possible.

Take an enzyme supplement that does not have HCL Betaine. That one is best taken, if at all, alone so you can manage the dose exactly. If you feel a kind of acid stomach from taking it, the dose is incorrect. I rarely feel anything from taking only enzymes, but HCL betaine is pretty harsh. I have more info in the Enzyme notes in the FAQ. :)

Candida is mostly killed in the stomach, and candida overgrowth mostly happens due to low stmach acids and low bile production, not low enzymatic activity. If acid or bile is low, enzymes never get a chance to do anything.
