A Simplified Leaky gut protocol
Shelley's leaky-gut protocol lists everything that may prove useful for leaky-gut. Unfortunately it can be a bit overwhelming to see such a huge list of supplements and not know where to start.
I have a simpler solution.
The backbone of any leaky-gut protocol should be L-glutamine. This amino acid is what the body uses to repair the gut. The dosage is critical - many people take capsules which don't contain enough powder. I would always recommend the powder. For theraputic results you should be taking 10-40g per day - perhaps in divided doses. 5g=1 teaspoon.
If you want a more comprehensive approach there are herbal supplements based on L-glutamine - e.g. IntestiNew from Renew Life. Again I would get the powder (not the capsules) and dose accordingly so you get your 10-40g of L-glutamine a day.
L-glutamine can cause constipation (as can any remedy for leaky gut), but the good news is that results should be more or less instant - the gut is one of the fastest regenerating parts of the human body.
Hope that helps.
