Re: Try St. John's Wort

I totally agree with you Remi. Anyone who thinks we enjoy this stuff just hasnt experienced the kind of suffering candida can bring.

I lost a twenty year career, thirty years of health, and when I became old enough to drink, was very soon dependent upon it, further undermining my health. Learning about candida has literally saved my life. After not being able to work for seven years, I now have a part time job, am studying a course, and feel like a new person, although I still have terribly bad days. BUt to me, a few bad days is nothing when I lived for years in such a dark place. At 39 years old my doctor told me Iwould be housebound within ten years the way my health was deteriorating. They now think I have made some kind of miraculous recovery. When I tell them its all down to tackling a candida problem, my doctor's eyes glaze over and he stops listening.

I was accused of being lazy, advised to get help for depression, etc etc etc, but I knew somewhere inside of me that there was something else wrong. Eventually my search for knowledge led me to candida and after a two year climb that has been frustrating, painful and slow, I feel there is at last light at the end of the tunnel.

There is no doubt about it, some of us have to be very strict with outselves. We have no choice. This forum is strict. But some of us cannot afford to 'play' at the candida diet. In my case, its a straightforward choice. Enjoy nice food, such as pizza, wine, beer, chocolate cake etc etc, and pay the price for that pleasure with a life of physical, mental and emotional misery. I would love to go to an indian/italian/greek restaurant and order whatever I want. But feel ill for weeks afterwards? No thank you. I'll happily stick to my tuna and green salad and know i will have a good day tomorrow.

THere is no contest. Anyone who cannot understand this, simply have not experienced the advanced ravages of candida. And I truly hope they never do.

Love and light

FIona
