I've never tried it, but I read it is made from ginger, lemon juice and sugar. If it is fermented long enough, it shouldn't be too high in sugar... it would contain beneficial yeasts and bacterias, lemon and ginger are very beneficial by themselves, it makes a carbonated drink. I dunno how high the alcohol content would be, i.e. would it be satisfying...
I believe that alcoholic beverages made the more traditional ways are not unhealthy, and can have some probiotic benefits.
