Been taking the EM-1 for close to 2 weeks now.
At first, the EM-1 seemed to cause digestive problems, and I was not sure if it was from the
Sugar (I didn't ferment it as long as Vinny Pinto recommends). So far the EM-1 seems to help my digestion a lot, but this caused me to cheat a lot, unfortunately, because I had a reason to cheat, or so I believe: to test my digestion!
I ate close to 2
pounds of dried figs yesterday! The day before, 300g of figs, 250g of fresh dates and a mango! Despite that huge
Sugar intake, I did not suffer too much gas, and my BM are OK, sinking and brown, instead of the usual fatty pale floating stools associated with when I eat too much fruits. Even someone with a normal digestion could probably not handle all that
Sugar (especially since half of it is fructose).
I take about 250 mL a day, much more than Vinny recommends, and start taking it after 5 days of fermentation at a temperature of about ~45
Celsius degrees (close to a radiator), in soda PET bottles. It reaches pH 3.5 by day 3-4, and reach 3.2 2-3 more days. It keeps fermenting as I empty the bottle, so when I'm finishing it, it has fermented for ~14 days.
I'm unsure about the detox symptoms, as they're not very clear. The first ~10 days, I seemed much more fatigued than usual, and this week, I tend to sleep a lot more than usual (~10 hours a night). Fortunately I'm not working much right now and school has ended.
Please note that I have also greatly increased my zinc intake lately, and it could be contributing to the effects.
