I can't say for sure ( I'm not a scientist either :-) but I think the blobs of clear or yellowish stuff that look like a jelley fish, are mucous lining. The long white things that look like thin pieces of rope are candida. If you pass a big white blob with a red line through it, that may also be candida. Have you seen the photos posted here? Just click on "images" at the top of the Candida Forum page. Gross indeed.
