Re: New to Raw food/Can I eat a raw potato?

Well, all I know is that corn on the cob is awesome raw . . . as far as the other stuff, I have no idea about this nightshade nonsense as of yet. Although I will say that I don't like the thought that negative propaganda is being circulated about tomatoes. . . They contain lycopene, an antioxidant with strong anti-cancer effects. For absorption, remember that they must be eaten with a small amount of oil, as in tomato sauce, ketchup, or a fresh tomato salad with a drizzle of olive oil. (http://www.bized.com/healthnews.html)

Tomatoes also have a high vitamin C content.

Best of luck!
