have you ever done the atkins diet before? i used to do it all of the time in college when i needed to lose weight and fast. when you are not eating enough carbs your body goes into a state of ketosis - that is how the atkins diet works - i used to eat only 20 grams of carbohydrates per day and could lose ten
pounds in two weeks.
the candida diet is actually worse than the atkins diet as far as carbs go. you should get some keto sticks (you can get them at the local pharmacy) and check your urine to see if you are in a state of ketosis...if you are you will continue to burn fat because there are no carbs left for your body to burn. and you can eat as much as you want on atkins and still lose weight as long as what you are eating is not high in carbohydrates. it does sound like you eat some though because i read in your post you ate potatoes. but depending on your original weight, you may still not be eating enough for you body. the theory about candida is to do low carb because anything that turns into
Sugar will feed the candida as well. now i do not count carbs myself, but i don't eat any bread or grains or potatoes, so naturally i am pretty low carb. but i am eating more than i did on atkins.
i eat tons of nuts everyday - they will fatten you up : ) and like someone else mentioned - yogurt. i was eating it everyday and actually gaining weight instead of losing on this diet. i am not overweight by any means but i had gone up to about 128
pounds and my normal weight is in the low 120's so i could not fit into any of my work clothes...i stopped the yogurt and cut back on the nuts and i have lost most of the weight. i used to make the yogurt from half and half or heavy cream.
hope this helps, but i really do suggest you test your pee. if you aren't in ketosis, maybe you do have some type of deficiency or thyroid problem like someone else mentioned.
