Re: ALKALINE/ Acid food chart
hey michelle,
thanks for the info...i actually found this chart along with many others online. there are some discrepancies in some of them so i get together about 7 or 8 charts and copied and pasted all of them into a word document and would be happy to email it to anyone if they allow emails on here.
also,
i think you have the 80 percent and 20 percent backwards...oopsy! you should eat around 3 parts veggies and fruits (alkalizing) to one part acidic foods (grains, meats, etc). i think i read in a ton of places 75 percent alkalizing foods and 25 percent acidifying foods to keep a balanced pH. and it is best to eat as many raw veggies as possible. what i do every day is drink a green vibrance drink for breakfast which is a lazy person's vegetable juice drink. (soon i will start making real juice out of fresh veggies for breakfast).
then for lunch i eat salad (raw veggies and no meat) and at dinner i have a small portion of protein with some cooked veggies because i can't do away with meat completely. almonds alkalize and they are a good source of protein if you need it without having to eat meat. basically all meats and grains make you acidic with the exception of a few grains.
i don't eat any fruit because i seem to do worse but if you are going to eat it you should eat
Watermelon because it is the most alkalizing fruit out there with the exception of lemon.
interesting, but almost all foods on the alkaline side of the chart are basically foods listed on the candida diet. so i am sure that is not a mistake. stevia is even listed as an alkalizing sweetener and all other's are acidic.
