I have a close friend who is recovering from her eating disorder now for 14 years! She has gained her life back and her freedom from food back by practicing the 12 steps of Overeaters Anonymous. I can personally say that I have gotten my life back by using the 12 steps of AA. I believe they work in all types of life situations and difficulties. Have you given OA a try? If you Google it there will be a list of meetings in your area and if they don't have them near to you, there are online meetings also. Get a copy of their book and enjoy it. When I first went to AA I thought it wouldn't work and I convinced myself that I didn't belong or didn't like the people. The truth was, I didn't really want to let go of my addiction. When I finally faced defeat, the program of AA gave me my life back so long as I worked the steps. I have seen many people overcome many ailments (including eating disorders) through the 12 steps. This is just my suggestion since you said therapists and doctors haven't worked. Why not give it a try? It can't do you any harm. Don't beat yourself up eaither. It takes a strong person to come forward with this like you have! Congrats to you!
