My regular doc didn't think candida was the problem at first either. The good thing about him is, he's told me, "I'll test for anything my patient wants." So even after he said that he highly doubts I have candida because my immune system is not compromised (he derived this opinion from my other blood tests I had already taken, which I also felt at the time and still feel like my immune system isn't too bad), he still did the exact test I wanted. I told him the elisa test. It came back positive for low level candida.
Just go to your family doctor and tell him/her you want the elisa or mona test done for candida. If he flat out tells you "no," time for a new family doctor in my opinion.
I also get the feeling that I have something else in addition to candida, or another problem that is causing it. But finding out yes or no for sure about candida is very important in my opinion. At least for peace of mind if nothing else.
