confused about eating fruit solo
I have read on here that it is best to eat fruit on an empty stomach as other foods will slow down the digestion.
Just wondering, why is that bad?
But, as I have been doing research on other sites and some reading of the two books by Dr Mercola (www.mercola.com ) he says to NOT eat fruit on its own ever as that will make a huge increase in insulin in the blood.
If you have a weight issue, high blood pressure, high cholestrol, diabetes you don't want your insulin to rise.
It actually says to eat peanut butter with fruit if you want to eat fruit as it gives your body protein and it will help your body from oxidizing the food too fast hence raising insulin. This is especially true for people who have a protein metabolic type.
I don't know what to believe or what is correct. He is a dr and has done research, but that does mean is is 100% correct. His comments are in general not particulary geared for candida sufferers.
Is eating fruit alone a suggestion for candida or for all?
