I think that is certainly a clear way of seeing things. If God does indeed exist as simply "spirit", this makes your idea that much more plausible. In this regard, he is indeed soul without body. We are told that no body exists without a soul, so apparently soul can exist without a body but a body cannot exist without a soul. Is this what you are saying?
