i agree... but then as you yourself stated... nothing worked until "YOU" were ready to throw in the towel.. it's a decision each individual has to make for themselves... and some of us defend our right to be wrong... right up the very grave...
it's a very insane... very dangerous game some of us play... and what is so sad about it is that most players don't know that there are rules... they don't have even the slightest clue... life... "their life" may be lived and played out all according to their perception... and the truth of the matter is simply this... that the one that really suffers is the one having to watch the ones they love play out their string to the bitter end...

i agree with something that "shadow walker" had to say about never missing a chance to allow the alcoholic/addict the opportunities necessary to experience enough pain and suffering
to reach their bottom... so it seems sometimes when we try to help we only hinder... we literally love the person to death...
when all along we should be trying to make life harder for the individuals with the problem... so that he/she might reach their bottom faster... i guess this comes under the heading of "tough love"... not all parents can do it... and if they have money enough... would keep their child safe in rehab forever...
sometimes there just is no easy way out... ahh but then... when we give up... we find freedom... that happens only when we parents throw in the towel on our children... and pray...
