Re: Rehabs generally don't work

A book titled: "The Way They Learn" was authored I believe by Tobias, and puts forth the theory that children have seven different learning styles, and proceeds to describe each of the learning styles.

Each person has their own learning style.

So it is no surprise that any single method of ceasing alcohol imbibement should not be expected to work on all people.

It certainly isn't worth arguing whether something will work on all people or not. Just instead accept as fact that people do have different learning styles, and that no single teaching method will work on all.

With AA, the value is in having a supportive group. But, any group would probably work provided they're non-drinkers. i.e., if you want to quit drinking, join a group that doesn't drink. It can even be the basket-weaving club.
