OH, definitely the hair situation was the most difficult part for me. It is fine now which is the good news but very alarming.

I use pure coconut oil more than the emu but man did that emu oil make my hair feel fabulous. I will have to get MORE.

I also bought some liquid vitamins and minerals. I use a teaspoon of each an hour apart. I knew I had an absorption issue before I had begun the first long cleanse and I just assumed that when the book assured me I would be getting enough nutrition from the maple syrup, it would be enough. I discovered I need more than *enough*!

I would have to say though, losing my hair was worth it, but like you, I freaked and felt terrible since at my age, it takes diligence to keep my hair looking as good as it does and it is below my butt. My brothers are all bald and so fearing the genetic disposition, I was not totally trusting when Somer said it would grow back. She lost her hair after doing a 60 day cleanse. Fortunately, hers grew back too.

You can do shorter cleanses too. I just happen to want to do this cleanse for spiritual reasons...and feel the longer cleanse will afford me the experience I am looking for.

Listen to your body though and relax about it. My experience is not the norm. Most people do the cleanse and have no nightmare experiences. Especially since you are mostly clean. Those who are heavily burdened with toxins make the mistake of quitting when the going gets tough and it can be hard when you break like that. I read lots in the archives and was not discouraged...
