Re: Is this your first MC? YES!!....

Yes,

This is my first cleanse, period! I was searching the web on fatigue I think, when somewhere I stumbled upon this diet, and eventually this message board. It all made sense to me, so I decided to try it.

I am a sort-of single parent, my spouse in the military and away at the moment, so I pretty much have my life to myself if you know what I mean, I can do what I want for my schedule after taking care of the kids. So I figured getting focused on taking better care of myself, which I have not been doing for a long time (and am not sure I ever truly learned to do at all), this would be a good start.

I have gained weight over the past year and have let myself go in wardrobe, hair, etc. I've been dieting for months with no progress, even when exercising. So, I decided a cleanse would put me on the right track.

I used to be a vegetarian for several years before marrying my husband. Then with all the military moving, it became too difficult to maintain vegetarianism--no health stores nearby, no bulk bins, etc... So i resumed eating meat. It's impossible (i think) to be vegetarian out of a regular grocery store. But I continued to shop the outer aisles of the grocer, and the health food aisle if they had one, LOL.

In 2000 I did the Body For Life regimen. I got great results, but could not maintain that intense lifestyle, even on the "maintenance" phase, raising two kids and it took using a lot of thier products ($$$).

Then I switched to Atkins/ South Beach Diet, which was okay. But I didnt feel balanced after awhile. So I just went to following my instincts on eating. However, with hubby gone so much, and having the kids and a job, I succumbed to convenience, eating a lot of rather healthy but completely unbalanced meals. I even ate close to nothing and couldnt lose weight. My body was so confused I think. The holidays did me in with all the comfort foods I delved into, including too much eggnog, spiked to boot.

So here I am, this is my initial effort to get my health, energy, and figure back into my clothes I curently own, then update them with some newer not so worn out things, LOL I just have not wanted to buy up a size (or more).

Thanks for your support, and to all who answer mine and everyone's questions. I want to be helthy and have energy to amke it through the day again.

I'm 20 lbs over weight, age 41. Good news is, today i weighed in and have lost 5-6 pounds thus far on the MC! On day 4.....
