Yes. It is a business. This is all the more frustrating because there are several new techniques that can reverse cataracts, even advanced cataracts, within a matter of weeks without surgery. They were either successful in human clinical trials, or successful in animals but not yet tested in humans. I suggest that we find ophthalmologists who would like to expedite clinical trials of nonsurgical cataract treatments so that patients no longer have to rely solely on surgery. But are there any ophthalmologists who would like to do that? We could point out that the new treatments themselves will generate new sources of revenue for health providers.
