Re: Treating EC with Biologic Therapy/Injections
Hey jsl123
I was gonna make an update once I hit the 90 day mark in a couple of days, but since you asked, I might as well do it now.
So, as you might know, once you hit the 90 day mark (12 weeks), instead of taking an injection every two weeks, you start taking one every month.
On the Taltz website you´ll see that most of the progress should be seen in the first 12 weeks, and after that I think it s supposed to be only for maintenance (I think, so don´t take my word for it, because my doctors said the first 90 days are the induction phase so that your body can get used to injection).
Regarding my progress, the only thing I can say for sure it that the peeling cycle takes longer, but i´m only talking maybe a week longer so nothing to be really excited about. The skin still gets hard after a couple of days and then starts to get yellow, as usual It´s a little discouraging, but I´m going to assume that my doctor is right when he said that this is still the induction phase
I should also note that, last time that I was at the clinic for the injection, my doctor gave me a prescription for Tacrolimus (a protopic cream, that I saw some people talking about it here on the forum). I decided not to use it simply because I´m currently 6 months into the leave it alone method and I don´t want to ruin it. I know a lot of people here have tried, but I wanna continue with it because there is no better time to try it than right now since when I leave the house, most of the times I have to wear a mask.
I´m sorry I don´t bring better news. I´ll try to update when I reach the 4 month mark of taking the injections.
