Re: Water Fasting or the next 8 years of suffering ?

Yo Ryan34, Thanks for also getting back to me also. I've always been interested in what causes the skin to go all yellow and infected looking like in the worst cases of EC. I can understand why people are constantly suggesting issues with candida infections or internal stomach related problems because it definitely looks like its more than vermilion border/skin regeneration issues. Or maybe it's exactly that just highly exaggerated.

Sadly I'm in the UK and haven't been able to get my hands on Epiceram. I do like your thought process though, I've been trying something similar with this coconut oil. I know it just seems like another product amongst the million you have tried but for some reason, this mixed coconut + oils really helps to smooth and not irritate the skin (much more than normal coconut oils). When I use Aquaphor or Pawpaw I definitely notice them considerably more irritating than using this product. However the Coconut oil doesn't provide the same amount of moisture and definitely makes the lips work a bit more on their own

' if the skin comes off and your lip is raw/red/painful underneath then you need a shift in strategy'. I agree with this and my lips do heal the best when I can leave them for longer letting the skin grow underneath. The problem now at 27 work and life have takeover and I will often just peel them in the shower in the morning so I don't have to worry about skin flaking off throughout the day. This, however, does make them more raw and dry throughout the day.

Living with EC is definitely about managing the problem. I would love to take 6 months off and live in a cupboard and try and get rid of EC again. But I've done it before and it hasn't worked.

Yea I've been trying the constant moisture method for years now, I do also believe somewhat in the leave alone method. Part of this problem definitely relates to the lips losing moisture as they constantly peel. After years of using lip balms to treat the raw/dry peeling skin, It starts to struggle to produce moisture even when you have a healthy-ish layer of skin over the top. Hence the vicious circle were all stuck in.

Maybe it's in leaving them alone that allows the skin to relearn how to moisturise, regrow properly. Then the constant moisture method helps to protect them while they return to full health.

Replay to rant :)
