Need doctor with bird mite experience - anywhere!

I think I have a bird mite infestation, and cannot get a doctor to even consider it. Does anyone know of a doctor that has experience in this and recognized that some mites can switch to humans? I am at the end of my rope. They are very deep in my scalp and I cannot get them out, as well as other parts of my body. I live in the midwest but am willing to travel.
