Re: Day 8 - Thinking about what to do next!

Somer switched to juices somewhere in the 40 day vicinity and she was under the watchful eye of a naturopath and when she ran into trouble she would prescribe some changes in her regimen. LN has experienced a number of MCs and has read lots and from her postings you can gleam that she has a level headed approach and intuitive understanding of the fasting process. Personally I would trust LN to know when to quit if the situation and condition called for it.

When Somer switched to juices she introduced lots of nutrition with the juices which to me was a good move that while the system was still getting somewhat of a rest from digesting by not doing solids the system was getting some mega nutrition in readily assimilable from in the veggie juices.

I really think that a 40 dayer and certainly anything past that should not be approached with a cavalier attitude of if they can do it and so can I. It will totally depend on each individual and how toxic their system is. If I'm not mistaken Somer also did a very focused precleanse of raw food and juices for around a month before she took on her long fast. As for me I had started a juice fast and while researching the net at around day 4 or 5 I found this site and intuitively switched to the MC which in essence gave my system a good head start and precleanse of 5 days of juices. I remember that during the first 3 or 4 days of juicing I had the luxury that I could just sleep a lot and remember resting and sleeping lots.

My personal experience is like I said before a week or so before reaching 40 both times I have felt that to continue past 40 any gains would have been very negligible and minimal.

Fasting is not "THE WAY" it is just a tool to get the crap out of the system. "THE WAY"  will be rebuilding and getting stronger through proper nutrition and exercise.

Eating raw does not guarantee a whole bunch without lots of education and experimentation to achieve balance and complete nutrition. Juicing veggies and making sure you're also getting  your essential fatty acids (good fats) will be of prime importance in a raw diet.

Bottom line is look at the bigger picture and don't get so locked into the numbers so much.
