Gut dysbiosis/Candida overgrowth stool test analysis help
Hey there!
I’m a 26 year old guy. I’ve been having chronic fatigue(brain fog, muscle weakness, post exertion malaise, tinnitus, sinusitis, etc for over 10 years. I’ve tried just about everything there is to get better.
After years of nothing showing up on blood tests, I’ve finally started getting some results.
I just recently had my thyroid come back low(t3/rt3 ratio low) signs of adrenal function low(dhea) basal body temp consistently 30-35.5c.
For the past year I had been eating healthier than anyone I know. No gluten, dairy, sugar. Moderate dairy, carbs, protein, plenty of vegetables. My naturopath put me on thyroid, adrenal supplement, antimicrobials, and probiotics for past 5 months.
After retesting fatigue and thyroid ratio have continued to get worse.
I’ve just recently had a stool test through nutripath labs come back. Results show signs of gut dysbiosis. I’m not sure of how to make sense of it all though.
The main things that showed up on the stool test were:
- Fat globules in stool
- Vegetable fibres in stool
- Elevated levels of long chain fatty acids(30.8mg/g)
- Elevated levels of phospholipids(13.6mg/g)
- Increased levels of glucuronidase(6297u/g)
Beneficial Bacteria:
Bifidobacteria low on 2(range 2-4)
Lactobacilli low on 1( range 2-4)
Other bacteria:
Citrobacter freundii on 4+ high(range is 0-3)
Bacillus Cereus on 4+ high(ranges is 0-3+)
Alpha haemolytic steptococcus on 3+(range is 0-3+)
Gamma haemolytic streptococcus on 3+(range is 0-3+)
Yeasts:
Candida parapsilosis
1+(range 0-1+)
Any help with understanding this would be so much appreciated. Could any of this be linked with my crushing fatigue etc? If so what treatment options would be recommended?
