Re: Lanosterol Eye drops, Brownie, I am disappointed to read that you are not getting success with...
Hi "Tke"
Nice to hear from you...
Sorry to have got you disappointed, but it's not as simple as "not getting success" with lanosterol eyedrops...As I mentioned in the first post I wrote about my using them ("Last time I watched on Amazon, among the many revi..."), I regularly experience nice moments...In some appropriate conditions, such as when watching through the window from my place on clear sunny days, I notice brightter colors, see farther it seems, or when at times some of the things I watch look cleaner....
Unfortunately in less appropriate contexts, such as wide open spaces - especially on very sunny days - or at night under weak overall lighting but with busy traffic and many car-lights.., it seems that nothing has changed.
So it's like maybe those drops would work, but not enough, at least till now : it is possible, thinking of the various types of cataracts you have mentioned in "Know your cataract type", that they would work say on cortical cataracts perhaps, but not so well on nuclear ones for instance ? Then I'm feeding Ubc4s and Ubcs with yeast, to have them tag nuclear dead cells and then send Pac-man on mission to eat them all...(!?). While I keep feeding the lens with Lanomax hoping that when its front is full up, it will find a way to direct some of the drops to the back !! And I'm eating kale and turnip greens too...But I still find it very difficult to read without a light directly focused on what I read...
However, I find myself walking quiet streets without contact lenses at night - something I wouldn't do before (getting used to this town after 2 years ?)...
Honestly I don't understand well enough the laws of optical
Science to make any more deductions from it all.
These drops are expensive, so I cannot tell wether they'd be the thing to use : a 5ml "bottle" normally costs close to about 1/10'th of what I get each month !! If you're quite wealthy go for it I should think, but otherwise I don't know : did you get any positive results from your own experience after some time ? They say it would take 6 weeks to heal a 20 kgs dog on Lanomax website : don't know if it means a 70 kgs man would need 3 or 4 times more...They say too it depends on how bad is the disease I think...I had it for very, very long : so it may be easier, or faster for some others...
As far as the title is concerned, Charles Mingus book's name - "Beneath the Underdog" owes a lot to discrimination he relates having encountered as a black man (that partially got him choosing jazz double bass, as opposed to classical cello - a youth' dream I think -). He'd never be booked in a classical orchestra, some friends or relatives told him...I probably misunderstood the word "Underdog" as when I read the book (being a teenager), it was published here in France under the title "Moins qu'un chien" - "less than a dog" (kind of, "under a dog") -, as I didn't know of underdog's (first?) meaning.
I didn't mean anything disparaging to any...Just thought of that type of discrimination that may be felt having to use drops for dogs that THEY are allowed to use!, (not us ?)... Can we tell a doctor about it, and ask to check out how they work...
Second degree kind of a joke then only.
More generally about this topic and to everyone now, this thread has been opened for people to discuss their using LANOSTEROL eyedrops experiences if any (or to ask questions about it when wondering) mostly...Other threads exist for others products too.
Although there are a number of things that seem to have had a positive action against cataracts, many would succeed at early stages of the condition mostly I believe (some people meet success others don't it seems).
Lanosterol had been reported as expected to be a step forward, able hopefully to reverse cataracts, not just prevent or stop them or/and a bit more...
That's why it means that much : unless advertising has now reached the very core of scientific communiqués (and renowned dedicated newspapers) lanosterol eye drops could be a genuine improvement. But lacking of humans trials yet, it is important to share one's experiences, see if it works, if there are side effects and so on. The drops that are available are expensive enough to avoid that people sould waste their money, their time and even more, maybe health...
I did not find that much information about their use when I was looking for it.
I did 6 weeks (note, this bit was written a week ago or more) with these drops, finished a 3rd bottle then stopped for a few days because of some eyes fatigue, a bit of a headache and some light pain on the eye where I had a laser treatment done a long time ago (to prevent retina's detachment they told me)...I worried a bit ; did some castor oil on that eye while starting again on the other one after this 3/4 days break...
All together now, if there is a genuine improvement it is not quick enough for me to be really sure, as that hope and belief in the treatment I've had in early days more or less vanishes at times (does have some incidence in eyesight acuity it seems isn't it !?)... I had been doing some Dr. Bates' type exercises throughout, and some dedicated food supplementation - after "Tke's" indications - too...Not sure of what works when it does (I've had better sight moments when I practiced Dr Bates exercises regularly - but less often -, saw brighter colors too last summer doing honey, but not that bright.).
I want to have my sight measured again to see if anything shows up as in spite of nice elements at times, it seems like nothing has changed at others...
I had better better moments today again though...
Tke, about your last point on human trials, didn't you say that Lanomax was made by Acucela.Inc somewhere ?
