I have used chia in combination with flax seed for chronic constipation for a few years but recently I found that it seemed to be not as effective.I tried miralax and didn't seem to work as well even with drinking a lot of water.Then recently I switched back to using chia and flax seed and instead of once a day,I tried the combination one dose in the morning and one at night.It seemed to have restored its effectiveness.Its great to have the system working again without resorting to other meds. Nice and soft. Don't forget to drink lots of water after your chia and flax seed intake.
For myself I have had recent colonoscopy done and make sure I don't have any bowel obstruction issues.I also increased my intake of fruits such as melons,peaches etc.
Be patient it might take a few days to work but once it gets started with bowel movements continue to take twice daily with your chia and flax.Flax is wonderful and lots of health benefits including omega 3 and lignan--use cold milled ground flax seeds.I found chia gave me more gas than flax seeds so I tried different combination of chia and flax seed.
