I think there is a big difference between freedom of speech in the USA and UK. I think your quite right to be happy for people to express their views, some people are not so happy and get very touchy on the subject of people having a view. Hate is Hate its not a nice word. In Britain some of the stuff posted on Curezone you would not be able to get posted, you would not be able to, that is the difference, a forum moderator would delete it out. Personally I think it a good thing that racism is being controlled but you are right it does take away freedom of speech and we have had some of our freedom of speech taken away, it had to happen because we were opened up to mass immigration and also because of terrorists on our streets and the police at the beginning having no powers to stop them preaching and converting new recruits. We have high profile court cases now of people who post nasty stuff on the internet being prosecuted in courts and sentenced, we had a recent case about some gentleman of nobility. In Britain calling people racial names of any kind can land you in trouble with the law. If the website did not remove the posts then they could be in trouble too, the N word, well you just can't go there and that is that, don't even think about it unless you want to get arrested. It's also about to get a lot tougher, its easy for people who make racial slurs against foreigners or disabled to make the news and papers, any British person will tell you the government has made a total crackdown on it and wants it completely wiped out. Recently British Telecom stopped letting many of their forums for people to post on because of the growing pressure and their forums were relatively good, they mostly talked about Brexit etc but British Telecom won't even allow that now, they are running scared and it is all about being seen to be nice and very politically correct and its going to get much more like that. I have now got use to it so seeing really graphic nasty stuff posted pretty shocks me because you have to remember I live in a culture where you could be prosecuted for doing that quite easily, I would be afraid of the knock on the door. Even internet posts make the news and papers over here. I will be honest with you I think British people are much more shocked now by racism because it is such a no no now and yes in Britain racism is frowned upon and yes it will get you into a lot of trouble.

If you just read the law on Hate speech you will see that what is happening on curezone is totally forbidden in the United Kingdom, I am not aware of the USA laws but that is what I live with here. I am simply stating the facts where the law stands, I don't make the laws of the land but I do have to abide by them and quite rightly so.
