Re: 55 y/o male water-fasting first-timer with questions

Thanks again Archus.  To clarify on the measuerements: is that one cup of each ES and Potassium?  When should I begin implementing this routine?  Is it based on symptoms or X amount of days or just a best practice to stave off bad experiences?

UPDATE

Currently I'm on day 5 of my first time water fasting.  I've lost over 10 pounds so far with water weight elimination I'm pretty sure.  I have felt some pain in my chest but then it goes away.  Hunger pangs are deminishing but are still there.  The color of my uring went to orange yesterday which I think maybe due to the last of drinking as much water as in the beginning days.  So I'm trying to drink more which has been about three-four litres per day.  I had my first BM by the third day so I wonder if ketosis kicked in because that would signal to my bowels I 'ate something', right?

My blood pressure still runs a bit high without meds but I would think that since this fasting is for a short period of time that there is enough grace period to not worry about a stroke or heart attack.  My resting pulse was 96 last evening which is a bit of a concern.  My heart appears to be working hard.  But dropping weight should make it work less, right?  I'm reminded of Dr. Oz talking about the benefits of losing just 10 pounds and how significant that is for the heart in terms of benefits.

I try not to work up a sweat since I wish to preserve my electrolytes as long as possible.  I'm planning to carry gatorade with me if and when I have a dizzy spell.

No headaches even going cold turkey on coffee and sugery snacks.  Amazing.  I thank God for allowing me to transition radically through this process.

Looking forward to you and the group's feedback as usual.  :)

Cheers,

travtek
