How long DE takes to get rid of parasites?

Does taking DE even in water affect your lungs?  I noticed that DE dust comes out of water when stirring.  Some chest irritation is present within minutes of drinking DE solution.  This causes some concern.  DE seems to be a powerful substance, but the idea of permanent lung damage is a deterrent.  

Any thoughtsuggestions are appreciated.
