Electric toothbrush or manual?

I was told in 2008 when moving to a new Dentist that I had been brushing incorrectly and too vigorously and had worn away my gums.

Since then I have been using a soft bristle electric toothbrush.

I do Coconut oil pull each morning, use an oral irrigator on soft mode and use homemade toothpaste.

My gums do not bleed or feel sore but
I am concerned that the oscillating motion of the toothbrush is not allowing my gums to regrow.

Would I be better off using the same electric toothbrush but use it manually without the oscillating action?
