The point is, I suspect you're in desperate need of thyroid and adrenal support, and you're not getting it. The meds you're on will never help you be healthy and will, over time, give you more to deal with. I understand that you need them right now.
I agree, fish oil by itself would not work. But it is a part of what might help. There is the physical part of depression, and the emotional part. Iodine, fish oil, walking, thyroid hormone, B vitamins in general, are all part of the physical healing.
I have quirks in my metabolism, as you may have in yours, that have been the very devil to ferret out and address. Since you need help to sleep, you may have a hole in your BH4 metabolism. BH4 is the basis from which all your neurotransmitters are metabolized. One way to support BH4 that sounds ridiculous, but is profound, is Bob's Red Mill unmodified Potato starch. Start with 1 tablespoon in cool water 4-5 hours before bedtime, and work slowly up to 4 tablespoons (to give your gut a chance to respond). More about that here:
