Re: Alternative barrier on lips...Gloves in a Bottle
Hey mate, I'm still going strong with this too.
There's two important things I've noticed/thought of.
1) The healing is super slow, but I can tell it's taking place because my lips aren't peeling.
When I remove all the product after I shower/ brush my teeth, I let my lips dry before I apply the product, through a combination of sucking the moisture out of my mouth, and dabbing lightly at my lips with my t-shirt. After this is done I can clearly see there is new skin on my lips and they aren't raw, and have horizontal and vertical ridges, but they still look very fragile. Although they are holding up I believe this process is going to take longer than I originally anticipated.
2) I believe that using this product in conjunction with an appropriate product such as steroid cream or calendula will assist. Why you might ask? Many times in the past have I used just calendula and steroid cream on their own, and although it seemed like they helped, the main issue was they didnt create the permanent waterproof, resilient barrier that our lips needed. I've recently started applying calendula first followed by this product, but I really want to get my hands on some protopic steroid cream and probably some strong vitamin E supplements.
Keep us updated buddy. Anything that you've noticed that you think would be useful feel free to share.
