Re: Have you tried Betaine HCl (hydrochloride) supplements?
If you can relate to my lips with your own then I'd say it's worth another shot.
I have noticed on here that not everyone's EC looks the same, some people do not experience the same redness on the inner mouth as I did, although I only became aware of the redness when I started photographing them. Living with your lips you forget what they really look like unless you can look at them up close without movement. It's surprising what I started to see by studying the photos. I looked for a long time without realising the redness was not just my natural lips, it was not normal.
I think I remember saying in my other thread that it took a few weeks to see a reduction in the inflammation. I also ate gluten free alternative foods and still do. If your EC is GI related you will without a doubt see improvement after two weeks. It won't be straight away. If you have the worst form of gluten intolerance you may need to cut out trace gluten sources as well, but without knowing whether I am either I have made progress from just eliminating the obvious sources: pastas, breads, savouries etc.
It's easier to be gluten free than you realise. Most of your favourite sauces are probably gluten free. If you eat a lot of processed foods it will be hard, but you shouldn't be doing that anyway. You have to stick with it though, one gluten full meal is enough to put you back to square one because of how the body responds to gluten. If you can see it (i.e. large portion of gluten pasta) it's going to be enough to cause inflammation.
At this stage I am not worried about trace gluten, I'm just taking a road stop right now before the next step. (healing protocol/supplementation/
Liver Flushing etc)
