Re: Are fiber and water actually bad for constipation?
IT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT HEALTH FINDING OF THE CENTURY, IMO
I just found the website last week,
http://gutsense.org , and I've read quite a bit of it now and it makes eminent sense to me. My background is in nutrition. The author explains in great detail why fiber is bad in the long run. It's okay temporarily, but should be reduced gradually, or replaced with better nutrition. High-dose Vitamin C is said to be the best laxative, because it has no side effects. The author sells what seem to be superior quality nutrition products, which make it easier to transition to the ideal low carb, low fiber diet.
Fiber is found mostly in carbohydrate foods, so it shouldn't be a big surprise that fiber is bad in the long run, since carbs are also bad when they're excessive. Fiber interferes with digestion and can clog ducts in the intestines going to the pancreas, etc, which can cause diabetes etc. By blocking nutrient absorption into the blood stream, fiber gradually causes malnutrition, which leads to many health problems.
L-Glutamine is said to be needed to restore the mucosa of the intestines that are damaged by fiber. Probiotics are needed as well to restore friendly bacteria. And Vitamin C is important for preventing constipation and ensuing damage to the gut lining.
