Re: My health journey so far/ iodine
My answer is simple.
1) You cannot overdose. The body knows how much
Iodine to use, the rest goes out in urine. Prior to WWII, dosages of
Iodine being prescribed by doctors were as much as 1.8 GRAMS. Dr. Brownstein uses 300 mg a day for cancer treatments, but routinely recommends 50mg a day to become
Iodine sufficient. Trapper & other members have found 100mg daily the best dosage.
2) Take the amount that feels best for you. There is no perfect answer that fits everyone. I took the go slow approach and took 6 months to go from 3 mg to 100mg a day. That worked for me to cure my prostate, now lately I am down to only 12mg a day.
We live in a world full of toxins, and the toxins of bromide ( in breads & baked goods), fluoride in liquids, and chlorine are constantly attacking the iodine receptors in our cells. So we need enough iodine every day to overcome these toxins that are trying to take over our cell receptors. Some of our members report that they actually need 100mg a day to prevent breast pain (fibrocystic breast disease).
Hope this helps,
