My health journey so far/ iodine
Hey everyone i wanted to join so I could share my journey with my health and get more advice on dosage with iodine. Sorry if this is long. So started off last year getting really weird symptoms including hair loss, really dry skin, weird rashes on face chest and scalp, acne, fatigue, lost a lot of weight. Obviously for a 20 year old I was really down about all this, kept asking myself why me? I started eating a lot better and was supplementing wisely but it seemed to not really improve anything, I then started reading about candida and it seemed to fit me exactly. But I kept thinking surely if I'm eating a paleoish
healthy Diet I shouldn't be having these problems. Then I also started to come across heavy metal toxicity and realised I had a large
Amalgam in my mouth and was thinking oh shit maybe this was what was causing all my health problems, so I had it removed and started to detox using lots of different things, I also had a hair mineral analysis to make sure I was not deficient in anything and also check heavy metals. It came back saying I was not Mercury toxic but I had a toxic metal ratio of selenium/Mercury which still leaves me thinking that maybe Mercury is a problem. After a few weeks I started to realise that I was still drinking tap water which has fluoride in and so I cut out all tap water and started drinking spring water within a few days my skin was so much better less dry and eczema like rashes were gone. But my hair was still staying thin and my skin was still weird and dry. I also looked back to the HMA and it said that I had no
Iodine levels whatsoever. So I started reading about
Iodine but was so scared to try it because of the detox symptoms. But deep down I knew my body needed this nutrient so I bought some
Lugols started with the other supplements such as selenium magnesium etc, after I started taking 1/4 drop then doubled the amount each couple of weeks to a month until now where I'm taking just under 3mg and it's been remarkable the changes in my body so far: better skin, hairs getting thicker, teeth look whiter, scalp rashes have improved, more energy. The detox has been okay apart from more rashes but I've been taking lots of different things to help detox. But I need some advice, I've been ready about people taking high doses like 100mg, I really wanna work up to that but I'm not sure whether to increase slowly or jump straight in. Really don't wanna harm myself, i know lots of people have different opinions about it I would like to know what other people have done, sorry this is sooo long, I hope someone can help me
