Some Talk : )

Sure you know some experts, Grzz. Besides Steve Barwick there is also yourself, as you have become quite knowledgeable, OK, here is my response - at least what I had time for:

Steve Barwick is a good friend of mine and I certainly count him among the "experts" I know and believe that he is a very good source for information. My only caution is that Steve has a proprietary interest in ionic silver since that is what his great generators make, and so his advice favors ionic silver over Colloidal Silver . I and other "experts" believe that while ionic silver is superior for topical applications, true Colloidal Silver is superior to ionic silver when it comes to internal applications. However, like others whose opinions I respect, I believe that a combination of ionic and Colloidal Silver is best. Virtually all "true colloidal silver" products actually contain some ionic silver - perhaps as much as 15% or more.

That is one reason I prefer Utopia-Silver 's Advanced Colloidal Silver product - in addition to having some of the smallest particles to be found in any product, I think it contains a good ratio of colloidal to ionic silver. On the other hand, Purest Colloids Mesosilver is the highest quality "true colloidal silver" I have found - it has the most consistent and smallest particles of any other product, which one might expect from a manufacturing process that cost several hundreds of thousands of dollars and which was designed and made by a true "rocket scientist" - and MIT grad who worked for NASA.

Similarly, Utopia-Silver 's manufacturing process cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and it was designed and built by someone with decades of experience in high voltage technology. Very high voltage is used in the best processes used to make superior colloidal silver - which also use a submerged beam laser with reversing polarity. Watching those processes in action is akin to watching star wars as the plasma beam literally atomizes the 0.9999 fine silver. BTW, I note your purchase of what appears to be a superior ionic silver generator (which will also have some colloidal content, as almost all ionic products do). Sounds great and I look forward to your report. Someone was supposed to send me their latest and greatest generator to test quite a while back - but I am still waiting. (Are you reading this, Steve???) FYI, you can purchase your own home version of a submerged beam reversing polarity colloidal silver maker - but it will set you back up to $800 for a good one. Beats the heck out of the $50,000 price tag I saw for an entry level commercial unit.

When you take ultra small particle colloidal silver some of it enters the bloodstream BEFORE reaching the digestive system and it provides surfaces for the ionic silver that makes it into the bloodstream to plate to. And you are absolutely correct when you state that particle size is a key. The smaller the particle, the more surface area you have for any given PPM of silver. Think of the difference between the surface area you would get from the basketballs you could fit inside a 50 gallon drum versus the surface area you would get with a drum full of BB's. That is why Mesosilver and Advanced Colloidal Silver have several hundreds to thousands of times more surface area for their 20 PPM product that does homemade and commercial products, even those which have 15,000 PPM (and I and other "experts" don't advise using anything much more than 20 PPM).

Finally, colloidal silver will work fine topically. It is just that there is no reason to choose it over ionic silver and particles sizes don't matter as much, imo. I have used colloidal silver in an eyecup many times. It will instantly get rid of red-eye and usually clear up actual eye infections in as little as a day. I like to add a few drops of Dr. Christopher's eyebright, a wonderful herbal combo for the eyes which helps restore vision and brightness. Only a few drops though (start off with one and work up to as many as five), since one of the ingredients is cayenne extract and it does burn!

Gotta run. Keep in touch, my friend.
