I'm fairly new here as well and have had this issue "suddenly" pop up around the same time frame, I believe mine started right around my birthday which was October.

Your lips definitely look like EC lips, do your lips turn white in water as well? I'll be honest in saying I really don't know what's going on and I don't have the luxury to go for tests or anything as of right now. Others would say it's allergies, bacterial or fungal infection, virus etc. however, I'm leaning towards something immune-driven as it acts similar to other autoimmune skin conditions but this doesn't mean EC itself is exactly that, it could very well be a genetic defect or a new kind if membrane disorder that we somehow triggered through unknown means.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that no one really knows what's going on and there seems to be so many causes, variables and factors which makes it all the more frustrating, but until we have a legitimate, official diagnosis, I will stand by EC being akin to autoimmune diseases.
