Re: My story off prozac
I, too, have been on
Oxypowder for a little over a week. And I, too, take Prozac. I also take 4 other medications for my depression. I can really feel your husbands pain. The description you gave of how he feels when he's depressed is so like how I feel. Completely helpless. My husband and kids are happy and doing things together and there I am in my room, in the bubble.
I've decided a week ago, that I would slowly wean myself off of these drugs. Lately I feel that the drugs don't make me better, but they make me stay sick (depressed). I think back 10 years ago before I started taking antidepressants and I don't remember feeling this bad.
So I'm starting with the med that I think is least important to me. I'm gradually decreasing it until that one is eliminated. For instance, I'll take the capsule (pills are easy) and open it, dump 1/3 of it out and reclose it. I will take this reduced dose for two weeks before I start dumping out 2/3 of it out, after two more weeks, I will eliminate that one. Two weeks later, I'll start on the next drug. This is my gameplan. God, I hope it works.
The last medication that I will eliminate will be the Prozac, because I think it will be the hardest one to quit.
I wish you and your husband the best of luck. May we kill "The Beast" (my name for my depression).
By the way, I really like the
Oxypowder !
