Re: Gut flora destroyed by bacillus subtilis

I really do not think that BS will still be resident so I doubt that is anything to kill. They should pass through and be gone. They may have an effect while they are in the digestive system but after that they should not be having any effect. However BS are meant to produce biofilms as can be seen with Natto food.

I don't think that you could kill the spores even if you wanted to because they are highly resistant to most things including very high temperatures. You could bake them and they would survive!

There are things which are effective against the bacteria which you could find on pubmed.

Therefore supplementing with other probiotics would be your best bet. Specifically ones which benefit milk digestion.

Biofilms can both good or bad depending upon the organism which produces them.

The colon is full of biofilms which protect the beneficial bacteria within the colon. The colon is one large biofilm which is formed during very early childhood as a baby and the bacteria which setup residence and form those biofilms come from your mother during birth and from early feeding. A baby swallows bacteria during it's travel down the birth canal which provides a babies first inoculation of bacteria! That is why the health of the mother is so crucial and why some illnesses run in families because some unhealthy mothers pass on unhelpful bacteria. You should be able to understand where a mans input comes in and all sexual partners before the birth.

I read a book called "Increased Intestinal Permeability aka Leaky Gut Syndrome" by Case Adams PhD which was a very good book and reveals how it all works. I recommend the book, it's not very expensive.
