Re: Has anyone had success with Ivermectin for scabies?
UPDATE 5/20/16
I've been off of Iver for a week, waiting for my new order to arrive. I'm not seeing many of the black things anymore, except under my fingernails, but the white things (probably demodex) are still around here and there. I'm going to start taking the Iver once a week now, and mixing some with castor oil to put on my scalp to try to get rid of the remainder there.
I had some weird side effects that are just now going away. I had heart palpitations and my hair started falling out, which is weird, because Iver usually doesn't make your hair fall out. I figure the roots had been so damaged by the demodex that when they were gone, the hair just fell out, but I'm no expert. I'm taking DE to get the hair to grow back in, and it's working.
I still have something coming out of my tongue, lips and inside of my mouth. That one spot on the right side of my bottom lips still erupts from time to time. It's not herpes, doesn't act anything like it, although I have had herpes in that spot before. This starts by my lips peeling from top to bottom, and the strips are firmly attached at the bottom. I have to chew or cut them off, then the head falls out a few days later. If I pull them out, they leave a hole in my lip. It will peel like this for a few days, then stop, and come back a few weeks later. I was using Iver paste directly on my bottom lip, and it sent a lot of them scrambling out of my mouth. I wish there was some way to keep it in my mouth or put it on my tongue, but there isn't. Putting it around my mouth and on my lips seems to help. My chin is really infested and breaks out every time I use the iver on my lips.
Once I make the oil solution, I'll put that all over my face and scalp at night to try to reach the ones that the internal meds evidently aren't reaching. I also need to rub the iver directly onto my fingers and especially my fingertips to get these ones that are nesting under my nails. I've thought seriously about shooting the injectable iver up under my nails (painful, but worth it) to get rid of them once and for all, and also to use it on the cysts to kill them before they hatch out.
I know I sound a little crazy, but I'm doing better than I have in years, and I don't want to stop fighting yet. I figure in a few months, I'll have all these skin mites gone and I can start seriously working on the strongyloides. Of course, the Iver is killing some of them too, which is a good thing.
That's all for now. Have to get to work now, but I'll post results again once I start this new round.
