The OLD COVENANT dispensation had only ONE "husband"/caretaker/housemaster (JEHOVAH only). Today, we have THREE husbands (Trinity)....we MUST make this distinction.


THE SPIRIT of a person is their DEMEANOR/character/ideology (this CONCEPT is important for CORRECT understanding).


Job 32:8 But it is the spirit in a man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.

Jhn 6:63 It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life (MAN'S ways are folly...faulty and ruinous).


When the DIVINE Spirit can witness to OUR spirit (if we are a peaceful person to begin with), then we can have a spirit/attitude/character that is heavenly.

Rom 8:16 it is the Spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

2Co 11:2 I betrothed you to Christ to present you as a pure bride to her one husband.....,.(Israel was an IMPURE bride and performed PHYSICAL worship ("works"/effort, rituals, deeds, incantation prayer, etc.).

Heb 9:14 through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify your conscience

This is the JESUS dispensation (the age of ETERNITY).

Jesus came to earth in the "fulness" of time (the completion/end of time).

He came at the end of the age to put away sin....and in the age to come ETERNAL LIFE.

Since God's ways, attributes/qualities and demeanor/behavior are perfect/holy, He was always portrayed as having a holy spirit (of course, His Spirit is so strong, it LIVES....hence the capitalization).

...so in the O.T.(RSV) "SPIRIT" (whatever version you look in may be different), the "H" is not capitalized until the first mention of Jesus BY NAME (in Matthew 1). Tweet
