Re: Tired of living like a hermit

It's totally fine.

I think it's safe to say most of us with EC have chronic digestive problems, I have always had issues with candida, it's been going on for years now but I've always had a really tough time fighting it, at times being very relaxed with my approach).

Everything I have points to candida, and most people would know candida and bacterial imbalances are the prime reason for autoimmune diseases and allergies.

I'm going to assume my initial outbreak of some kind of allergy was autoimmune related and then I possibly have a secondary infection, but who knows. Derms are hopeless, he didn't even take a swab when I saw him.

I'm trying to cut out any kinds of irritants or known allergens, anything irritating to the gut. So nuts, eggs, I think I had a reaction to xylitol (corn) etc etc. Whenever I feel my lips burning or if they swell up or look more red, I take that as a sign that I shouldn't have eaten whatever it was. I can normally tell shortly after I eat.

I'm on a really strict candida diet, I have been for a while, I was actually on ketaconazole when the whole thing started which is known for messing up the liver, so I have a strong suspicion that's playing part in it too.

Do you find you'rs are irritated more so by some things than others?
