Blastocystis

Blastocystis: not to be underestimated.

I will find this parasite in routine stool exams (self microscopic fecal smears), and just assume they may be semi-problematic, and other conditions\factors are related to the primary cause of my clinical symptoms.

But I have recently taken a more active look at the problem, and have started to construct a better diagnostic picture.

It turns out, the basto may be producing a very complex array of enzymes and metabolically active molecules. These can cause histamine release, and vasoconstriction factors. Another big insight, in fact, proven to be clinically relevant; there can be proteolytic cleavage of IgA antibodies, especially the SIgA variety. This could cause a wide range of food sensitivities , and open the door to occasional opportunistic infections by other bugs, including H. Pylori. Might even be trigger for gluten sensitivity.

The other big one is this: Blasto produces Antibiotics , which could directly cause dysbiosis, and lactose intolerance!

The systemic reach must also be considered, like skin problems, hormone disorders, cervical and prostate problems.

Current treatment is metronitazole, which I found to have given me relief in the past, but this cannot address the complex life cycles existing within the host from an established parasite.

Must research further to find suitable cocktail, that can be considered for serious treatment option.
