Re: Questioning "normal bony growths" in mouth

I had a tori/torus is what my dentist called it, And he said, just to leave it unless it was bugging me. If was bothering me well he would call the oral surgeon for removal

I mean come on..... I thought well it just a small sliver of bone like splinter really.
I would pay them like 1200 to remove a splinter are you kidding me ??

I read stories where some people just take some tweezers with the griper and pull on the tori and keep working on it to work it out . It is just a thin brittle piece of bone, I sat back and thought I wonder if I could do that?

I put some DMSO and food grade hydrogen peroxide on it an let it soak in pretty good then I spit the solution and pushed on it and pushed a little harder. The next week or two it was pretty red irritated so I pushed it once more nothing, a couple days later pieces of the bone all came out and the Tori was gone and the gum filled in the hole. Problem solved. No surgery required .
