Re: Aquaphor
It's not uncommon for these companies to target desperate people looking for a cure to sell their products. I've noticed aquaphors name crop up in a variety of places, especially in the comments section on youtube videos. It does make you wonder. Personally I was stupid enough to buy some of this and it did nothing for me, like all the others. It contains mineral oil, ceresin and lanolin alchol. As you mention, if you are seeking something to stop the lips from drying out you could try a million different things, e.g. honey or coconut oil.
I was aware of daniel miller for sometime. In his case it appeared as though his lips didn't stop peeling entirely, he mentions that the white gunk still builds up but nothing like before. He was also trying a variety of things over the course of several years, so there's no way of knowing what actually helped him and what didn't. One question I have for him is whether he changed his diet during the time his lips appeared to mostly stop peeling. He gives very little information about his diet. He did make a video towards the end saying that he got so fed up of the crusts/build up that he started to re-apply various steroid creams yet he seems to give the impression that the answer is to simply leave them alone. I found his videos contradictory at times and very confusing for these reasons.
Look at it this way. The skin is a good indicator of what is going on within the digestive tracts. Hence why rashes and itching appears on the skin when people eat foods they have an intolerance to. The same must apply to the lips, either the peeling is caused from a contact allergic response, or something is being ingested to cause it.
