Tell him this--not us. Just be honest. Why is that so hard for people to do?? I doubt he'll go all psycho and hunt you down and kill you over a little 'possible' misunderstanding, or did you really lead him on enough to make him think you were feeling a lot more than you were, to boost your ego?

Still not likely to become a deranged stalker, but he'd have a right to feel used and angry. Nobody likes that, and that would be on you. An apology might go a long ways, if that's the case, because in that scenario, you'd be the victimizer, not him.
