Re: Should I replenish FRIENDLY BACTERIA in my gut after prolonged Water fast??

Hi,

I believe that the best way to encourage appropriate gut flora is to eat non-chemical treated raw foods.

Most foodstuffs contain bacteria, microbes and fungi that are specific to that organism.
They perform specific functions throughout the lifecycle of the organism and then thoroughly break down the organism at the end of its lifecycle.
I would guess that our bodies have adapted/evolved to use these flora - ie working with nature, so I would surmise that the best sources to replenish gut flora would be unadulterated foodstuffs.

The real problem that we face is over processed foods and chemically treated foods which undoubtedly changed the bacterial/microbial/fungal signature of the organism so that when or if we consume that organism our own flora will also be adversely effected.

With that view I beleive that fasting is an essential part of our modern lives giving us the opportunity to reset/heal so to speak.
