Re: Hyperinfection Hospice
Well, Flossy, then you do know the whole 'oh poor me, I'm a poor helpless victim' (add accompanying wailing, moaning, and chest grasping) game.
While my mother was extremely depressed--she wasn't very good at manipulating. So my knowledge is more based on seeing folks act out the games we learned about in my master's program--and since it was a 'heal it in yourself first' type program, we got to see those games in action with the faculty intervening, cluing us in on what game/script they were running and how to deal with it from various therapeutic approaches.
It was highly insightful, albeit if it was you and your game---quite painful---but still quite insightful. And since I didn't get any childhood training in that kind of behavior, I don't usually have much need to jump into the co-dependant enabler mode, the flip side of that coin.
I am sure, like me, though, you can spot the people who are genuine. It is a pleasure and privilege to help them, I think. And I'm always glad to encounter them here. Really it's the basic reason I'm here.
I personally appreciate someone with the where-with-all to say what they're thinking, even if it may not sit well with the less observant. I like that you're able to be a bit more gentle in your approach though. Like I said--I know I can be a bit harsh. So, thank you for your courage! *high five right back*
