ACV could make it worse if acidity (uric acid) is now your problem. I'd do like up to 3 tsp a day in water of bicarbonate. Even best if you have sodium-potassium bicarbonate, not just sodium bicarbonate. It is melon season here, I'd go for plenty of melons due to their high pH. Citrus is used to treat arthritis, but too much (combined with other acid like nightshades) may overwhelm the body capacity to transform organic acids into bases.
If it is gout it should subside within a week w. or w.o. great measures.
In order to feel better you may look into homeopathic remedies such as Arnica gel.
