Iodine Causing Increased Neuropathy?
I just recently started taking Iodine. I started with Lugol's, but right now I'm taking Country Life Kelp (I believe it's 225 mcg), as it came highly recommended and is apparently one of the best kelp options out there.
After about two weeks I noticed that some neuropathy in my feet that can be kept at bay with B12 is returning. Nothing severe - they just feel warm to a little hot at times, tingle as though they're asleep, and throb (like they've got a heartbeat). As I said, these symptoms can be kept at bay with a daily B12 dose. It started maybe two years ago. My doctor was never able to figure out WHY my feet do this. I don't have diabetes. I did see a neurologist and he TOTALLY brushed me off.
I'm concerned as to why this is happening. Is the
Iodine irritating my body/nerves, or is it helping it to HEAL? I know healing nerves can cause odd symptoms/pain.
I am taking selenium with the kelp, and just ordered some niacin to take. I have some vitamin C too, although I'm trying to go easy on it, as I'm dealing with eye floaters for the first time in my life and high doses of C can degrade the vitreous, causing even more floaters.
Any thoughts/advice?
